Languages

There are 4 Units across the Modern Language ‘A’ Level, with no coursework or literature involved at AS; some writing preparation is completed in the A2 year to respond to a written stimulus in the writing exam.. The speaking exams are on topics of your choice which are decided in advance of the assessment. Where possible, pupils are provided with 20 min – 30 minute minimum interactions with the Language assistant every week. The school also annually subscribes to a language learning environment on-line dedicated to the text material used in class and which is suitable for completing independent study. Additionally, students of a Modern Language will have access to a variety of visits including watching authentic films at the Warwick Arts Centre, a visit to London to evaluate and watch Les Misérables; the faculty also explores opportunities for ’A’ level conferences in the Modern Language studied. The course is suitable for students capable of independent study and hard work.
